    Something I thought I'd try

    Hey Cats,

Went through my watch strap collection to try something out.

Notched out this 18mm nylon to see how it looks on the Elgin, not too shabby I guess, what do you guys think?

    Peace,

I hope those cuts will not decide to go all way through reaching each other... :)

Yeah really eh. I heat sealed the notches so that wouldn't happen......I hope.

Actually, I have a Hamilton driver's watch that would work quite well with. And if you clean up the edges, get your patent for the idea, you'll be rolling in watches.

The problem(or good thing?) with this patent idea is that cuts must be different for every watch model..

You know they actually had this type of strap back in the day so you could try to get a real one.

Honestly? No. It looks not good to me. It looks makeshift, provisorily, as if your strap broke on a Saturday evening with no option to find a new one

That's how it looks to me. That beautiful watch deserves better, imho.

After all's been said and done, there's a lot more said than done...

Patina: little pieces of history put on old watches and forgotten there by the maker of time

"Miracles?", he asked. "Forget about miracles. Those who walk on water just know where the stepstones are."

"Luxury watches - you acquire the right to take care of them, but they remain the property of their manufacturers."

What a story that watch could tell.
" The leather strap broke whilst in hand to hand combat with the enemy - I ended up in
a bordello and one of the girls fixed it with her suspender elastic "
And it's still here after a hundred years !
