Stainless Eterna bumper automatic needs work but worth to fix!

I got this watch lately and its in sad shape. The bumper hammer part is wobbling and the mainspring is busted. Other than that though it is so impressive I need to get it fixed. I do not work on automatics yet so I contacted a watch repair man that is luckily near me and he said it would be his pleasure to take a look and give an estimate! it is 34.75mm wide not counting crown which makes it quite a chunk of steel in the hand! Please does anyone know about this watch? I know about the Eternamatics but they were a regular rotor automatic. This being a bumper makes me want it to be fixed all the more!!

I really like these Eterna cases. Got to get an Eterna bumper one day...hopefully.

Can't help you much with dating it - can't see the serial number on the movement, the serial on the case is faint (and your pic- not good enough for me to see that very faint engraving).
If you want to know more about the watch, I'd suggest contacting Eterna - provide them with the serials, and they'll tell you the year of production and the reference number.

The movement appears to be a cal. 1076H:

Now, it's time for the bad news: it's a redial. The font is completely incorrect. The rest as well leaves a lot to be desired.

It's german but you'll find all bumpers here : Schild-Eterna klick on: Armbanduhren II on the left list. I guess its not nessesary to understand the language.

That would date it to 1947.

Why not? If you are confident with a standard movement, then take the next step. These are not much different.

Nice Eterna, but unfortunately the dial has been repainted.
No "Swiss" at the bottom and sub seconds track doesn't fix the circle.
Market value isn't the same as an original dial.
You have to decide if you like it enough to invest in repairs.
    Redone dials don't sell easily.

Once I took the pictures and looked carefully I had a fear it was a redial. Just I could find not many Eternas similar to compare. I will keep it and look out very carefully for a replacement dial before I move forward with this watch. Live the case. Thanks all!
