This one, perhaps surprisingly, is a super compressor

    Re: Super Compressor Apreciation Thread

That Olma is pretty nice, trim.

Hmm, the "super compressor technology" was developed in the 60s - 70s by Ervin Piquerez. This system was adopted by a couple of brands (Bulova, JLC, Wittnauer, Universal Geneve, and a couple others) and worked on the principle that as water pressure increased, the seal of the case compressed and made the watch water proof. A couple of signs to know if your case is a "super compressor"...

    1. Usually have 2 crowns, 1 for rotation of an inner bezel
    2. Markings in the Back of the case
    3. They were produced in 2 sizes only : 36mm and 42mm

    Hope this helps.

    Well....

I thought I'd remembered correctly, but you had me doubting my memory for a while on the Olma. But...

Which makes this old beastie rather interesting indeed. It is 36mm BTW.

Can I add crosshatching on the crown to your list (also true for compressors though)

Yes! Crosshatching on the crown is correct! :)

There's a good description of what is a SC in the thread.
