    Question Swiss MacKenzie Chronometre ID

A friend of mine has asked me to try and identify this for him, I've looked in all the normal places with no luck, has anyone any knowledge of MacKenzie? (He's not got a movement photo as yet). It's rather an attractive piece any any case though.

I like that - always nice to see (just) a recessed crown.

I've not heard of it , but a quick google produced one that had sold on ebay in Canada. Given that MacKenzie is a prominent name in Canada, it might be a brand sold there. Just a guess.

BTW - I'm going away for a few weeks (visiting my Mum, then off to Cuba) - back mid December.

Good luck finding out about the watch.

The TM "MacKenzie's" (under a heart shaped crown with a diamond) shows as being registered to People's Jewelers in Canada (first registered in 1964, and still active today). Not sure if its the same as this one though. My first guess for age was 40's or 50's based on the lugs and recessed crown. I'm guessing it's an automatic.

thanks for that, very interesting indeed, I'd set its age as circa 1950, just for the reasons you mention. I've asked my French friend for some photos of the movement, so hopefully then we'll know a little more.

Sounds like a unique find. That's a nice looking vintage timepiece.
