Might be Swiss, might be French... The layout of it makes it a Lepine V.

YES ..Lepine V keywinder ..15 jewels ..lever ..to delimit the age its nesseary to look after silver hallmarks and case/dial. Surely not before 1850 and probably not after 1890 depending of the position of the lever. My stomach says 1870/80.

    Kind regards Silke

Addition: Of course frensh is as well possible but the bigger amound, if you don't look at the raw movement company, was made in switzerland. Two countries but one watch region

Nice piece, and in my opinion a Swiss movement.
What is inside case marking - looks gold and a assay mark - that would identify at least the case origin

    Re: Swiss movement?

Wonderful I like those hands. The watch match around 1870 perfect. 1860-1880 might possible but I don't think so . I see no silber hallmarks. In France they use them since 1838 and you usually find them also on older watches. I'm not sure how strict they use them but therefore it's quite sure swiss. Their marks get law 1882 and they have been used nearly 100%.

    Nice peace
