Is there a connection between Fortis and Lorenz?

I was scrolling through the private sellers section when I came across this Lorenz vintage for sale:

Which looked a LOT like my vintage Fortis Tuxedo II.

I couldn't find a connection between the watchmakers online, so figured some one on this forum would probably know if there is/was one.

    Just curious.
    Thanks.

I've got more Converse sneakers than watches, but it is a close race.

There are regulations about doing valuations on this forum.
Generally, it is worth what someone will pay for it. Of course being in good condition and working will add to the price.
You can check to see what similar pieces have gone for to get an idea or have a professional appraisal done.

could be a simple case of most watches do look a like. look at the 60s seamasters design see a lot of watches with the same design, think its just a case of what was fashion back then, even watches today look a like

Honestly, I completely forgot I started this thread!
What really got me was the 12 & 6 markers seemed exact matches. Of course parts could have been sourced from the same place.
Just seemed oddly similar not to have had some connection other than perhaps an homage of the period.
