Thoughts on this Omega Seamaster Deville

After receiving my first Omega for Christmas I sort of got into a vintage dress watch frenzy and bid on this watch without really doing any research =/. The seller looks legit and provided movement pics, which look clean. The dial didn't look to be a refinish, although the seller plainly stated that the crystal has been replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated =]

It looks like a nice honest example to me - but I don't know my Omegas that well.

Hi Marrick, thank you for your response. Do you think I should cross post this in the Omega forum? I don't want to junk up WUS with too many threads =P

As long as you mention that its already posted in vintage. But there are knowledgeable Omega collectors who will stop by in here pretty soon I'm sure.

Those hands go with that movement and case. The dial is the right style. The 'S' is correct for the age. The movement is nice and clean and an even colour.

I can't find case ref 136.010 though, and I am pretty certain the crown is totally wrong. I am going to sit on the fence as I am always suspicious of dials in such great condition. If it is a redial, I'd like to know who did it - I'd send them some of mine

Looks like a genuine original watch to me. These dials are excellently made, I have some in mint condition too. Great little clock!

I agree with Trim that the crown doesn't look original, but thats just a very minor flaw, it could easily be replaced.

Same answer I gave in the Omega Forum - the serial number puts the movement from 1970, but that style front loading case with Seamaster De Ville on the dial was made from 1963 - 67, and usually with a caliber 611 (although other 61x's were used). The crown is also a replacement of the wrong style. Nice looking watch though. pej is correct that there are mint examples to be had - got a sweet (and very scarce) 1964 reference 166.020 with an adjusted caliber 560 for $525 from my watchmaker last year:

I have a few of these I bought on eBay. This watch has the caliber 613 movement which in my humble opinion is the very best Omega manual wind movement ever. Easy to overhaul and easy to regulate.
