    Thoughts on this UG Tri-Compax

    Hi guys,

I have taken a leap of faith and bought this watch and was told that the watch is all original except for obviously the strap and the stainless steel pin-buckle. I paid about the equivalent of $3,400 US from a dealer.

To all the UG experts out there willing to help, does it look all correct to you (no photos of movement)? To me the dial looks all original and not a re-dial, but I can't pretend to know whether all parts correct to the reference and have gone off what I was told.

    The reference is
22242/1107421 , and they say in dates circa 1960.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

My only concern would be the month disc under the dial - it looks a litle cleaner than the dial and the day-of-the-week disc and the font is a little slimmer than that of the latter. It might be a replacement or from another watch. The rest looks OK to me.

Would take some time for me to find out, if basically everything is fitting together with this one, but slimmer and smaller fonts on the month disc are correct for Tri Compax. There are a lot of examples for that in Sala`s book on UG.

And @ Hutcho: I would suggest to ask about dial, hands, crown etc. here:

I can't speak to the components but I agree the dial does not look redone in any way. Absolutely gorgeous.
