Thoughts on "Vintage" Franken Patek Phillipe

    Hello Everyone!

First of I want to start and say thank you for letting me join this forum and I am glad to be a part of this community. I have done some research on Ukranian fraken watches and Wandolec. However, this watch looks pretty appealing due to its original patek movement from 1861. What do you guys think of it??

Ebay listing below, just add this at the end of the URL

    /itm/Vintage-Mens-Wristwatch-PATEK-PHILIPPE-Mechanical-Swiss-Gold-Mens-Wrist-Watch/362275281136?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid =p2060353.m2750.l2649

Would love to get your opinions on weather this is worth a 5k purchase.

    Thanks!
    Sam

I'm suspicious that someone would pay $5k for a watch in a plated case. Also, the listing says that the movement is PP-signed from 1861, but the actual movement says "Alvak Skinner & Son" and has an 1877 patent date. The dial says PP. The seller's other watches sell in the $300-$600 range. So overall, I'm skeptical about this auction.

a work of art? arguable, it comes across nice from several feet away.
A Patek? absolutely not. in that regard it's a complete forgery. Incredible hubris to call this a Patek, list as a Patek and put Patek on the dial and side of case. It probably has no actual parts that came from Patek themselves.

And thus the "watch" is summarily "danned".

    Dilly! Dilly!

The only way I'd pay 5k for one of Wandolec's flights of dubious fantasy is if I was paying in Vietmanese Dong!

The newly made case carries the trademarked Patek company name without approval, thus the watch is a fake. It's beyond a franken.

The rest of the watch? The fake aspect overrides it all.

Yes, I know. But I should have specified, I would need shipping thrown in at that price.

Yup, agreed. The further away, the nicer.
