Timex 0 jewel, 1 screw movement disasembly?

    Hi,

Some time ago one guy sent me a wrong watch(this Timex) and did not want it back.
Today I was sorting out my crap and found it lying around.
I realy like this simple watch

What on earth is this movement??? It had only one screw for releasing a stem.
Any ideas how do I disassemble it?
Balance is strong and stable, it ticks for 30 secs or a minute then stops, so cleaning and oiling could start it going again I think :)

You need to remove the dial to get at the screws.

Yours is a Timex model 25 movement.
Model 24 is without the date wheel.
Go to the Timex Watch forum site. Check out the "Manual & Catalogs" section.

Good looking Timex, lets us know how it comes out.

    Regards

    I like this movement

You just remove datewheel, ratchet wheel and balance and then just wash it all assembled :D

"If a cleaning machine is not available, the some procedure should be followed manually, by re-inserting the stem into the movement, grasping the movement firmly around the stem and shaking it in the cleaning and rinsing fluids to insure that the fluid will pass through the entire mechanism"

You may find that the little lugs which hold the dial on break off when you come to bend them back into place. But let us know how it goes.
