    Timex 105 help

    Hello,

I am trying to remove the movement from my 1978 timex so i can change the crystal. The watch has the m105 movement. However, i am not able to get it out just by removing the crown. Anybody have any idea what im missing? I tried flipping the four levers seen at the corner of the movement but it doesn't help.

    Thank You

I'd need more pics of the case.
When I did my Times Marlin I lifted the 4 levers and it came out.
But this looks like there's a ring around the movement. See if that ring comes out first.

Now I remember in my M25 the movement came off the back of the dial and the hands STAYED in place on the dial.
This may happen here. lift the levers more.

    That's not an M105, it's an M24. Furthermore, it is in a front-loading case.

You can lift the dial tabs, and while that may allow you to remove the movement, it also separates the movement from the dial and hands.

And, according to the spec sheet I found somewhere, the movement DOES separate from the hands. Movement service is done without removing the hands.

that's probably the way to do it.

You're mostly correct. To clean that movement you remove only the second hand, dial, ratchet wheel and balance. After removing the second hand and bending the dial tabs, the dial and the minute and hour hands comes off as one unit.

As ManOnTime said, what you are missing is that the dial comes out through the front after you remove the crystal and winding stem.
