France Ebauches was a conglomerate made up of most or all of the french movement makers (Parennin, Jeambrun, Lorsa, Cupillard...) that got into trouble during the quartz crisis. They even bought up GUB in the early 1990s (though not to save GUB but rather to squeeze whatever they could get out of them in the way of patents and technology and then close them down). GUB survived that experience and is now Glashütte Original whereas FE seems to be no more - I can't find any modern watches with their movements.....

I have also seen some models that have a star on the dial above the "Tradition" name... others have a letter under the "Tradition" name. Mine has the letter "A" b ut I`ve seen some models with the letter "M". do those letters and/or symbols have any significance? do they mean anything?

Tradition by Sears-Roebuck with an AS1318 ticking inside!

As a 20 year veteran of Sears Roebuck & Co, (84-2004) I was very interested to see these. I had never seen or ever heard of them! I have seen the "Sears" branded watches before, but not Tradition.
