    Tudor military

I purchased a vintage Tudor cushion from eBay seller said the watch was working great. I got it it kept stopping after communicating back and forth he said maybe in transit something got stuck. He suggested trying to reset again which I did. The watch worked overnight until the next day and it stopped completely can't even set it no second hand working at all. He advised me he wore it for a few months with no problems. This is my first vintage watch so do I sent it back or sent it out for repair . I only purchased it because he said it was working fine. I paid 500.00 not a lot of money but it didn't even work for a day. Thoughts?

$500 bucks is no small amount! If it were me, I'd send it back so fast it would arrive smoking.

If you like it maybe you could work something out where you could bring it to a watchmaker and see if he agrees to pay for the repairs? If it will cost too much or you don't like it too much I'd just send it back.

Well, first off, you shouldn't buy a vintage watch without expecting to have to service it. Send it back if you want, but don't expect any other watch you buy off of ebay to fare better. If I was you, I'd get a service quote from a competent watchmaker, and then make your decision based on that.

500 bucks would buy you a vintage Tudor oysterdate in decent shape so its not exactly a small amount.
Send it back if its not running!

Yep, send it back. Let him deal with it.

    Re: Tudor military

Almost all watches from ebay need a service whatever seller say
This one sounds to be dry but has a good balance
Depending on condition 500 could be not that expensive after all

Unless it's a scarce Model, I'd probably return it...it is a bit of a stretch to have him tell you he wore it for some time, and all was OK...only to have it act-up in the mail...really?? The seller makes me a bit nervous...!

If you want an informed opinion provide us with some evidence..i.e show us some pictures of the watch and importantly the movement...Irrespective of the money there are many aspects when buying a watch not just whether it runs or not...As stated always factor a proper service when purchasing a vintage watch....Never met a car collector yet who doesn't change the oil on a recently purchased vintage !!!
    So many watches.....so little time.....
