    Tudor Oyster: Original or re-dial?

I'm interested in this Tudor Oyster on the 'bay. The seller is quite strong in the description that this is the original dial, not restored or touched in any way. Do the experts here agree? Any tell-tales that might lead one to question?

    Thanks.

Re: Tudor Oyster: Original or re-dial?

I'm no expert, but I did a quick search to see if anything looks different from other ones online. In most of the photos, if the "Tudor Oyster Royal" was stacked, the word "Royal" was smaller than the word "Oyster".. but not always. The other thing that throws me off is that, seeing so many watches over the years, when I see some corrosion on the hands from the luminous paint, I expect to see a little discoloration on the dial. If there was no lume on the hands, I would not be surprised to see the dial look that nice.

    Just my two cents,
    Ron

I think Ron makes a Very Good point: isn't it a bit odd, that the dial looks like new, while the hands look, well...their age?! I'd be extra careful on this one!

    Great observations, thanks!

It will be interesting to see what it goes for, but i will just be on the watch list.
