    Tudor Oyster: real or fake

This would be in the too good to be true category, but I have to check to be sure. Any chance this might be authentic. No movement picture yet. Need to see my watchmaker to open. Has a screw down crown. It is running quite well . I'll tell you the price if you tell me it's real, but I'm not holding my breath.

I would put it in the redial category. Every photo of that dial I can find has no jewel count on it. That being said, I'm no expert.

I did find one with the jewel count on it being sold by chrono. And frankly I wouldn't even care if it was a redial as long as the watch is not a knockoff. I can post that jewel count picture if anyone needs.

I think genuine, and probably an original dial.
But I am sure the case, case back and crown will prove its all original.
Tudor rose on dial dates it to 1947 to 1960
    My guess 1950s

Seeing the flexi bracelet and overall condition I would tend to believe its full authentic so fingers crossed that the movement confirms the assumptions....

Thanks Adam. I was hoping for your opinion. Below I'm posting the picture of a similar/same watch that I found on the internet. When I get the back off mine, I will post the movement picture. Estate sale find in a box with Timex indigos and Japanese and Chinese quartz. All watches were the same price...$5!!!

    Wow!
If I am correct and you purchase it, it may be worth A LOT!

I'm not an expert, but just from my dodgy memory don't they usually have the Rolex symbol on the back when they say it's a case by Rolex, rather than the Tudor rose symbol it has on this one?
But I'm probably wrong, so maybe wait till you see the movement to decide as the rest of it looks believable.

This is going to be genuine, all the signs point to it.

Re: Tudor Oyster: real or fake

I'd say genuine - correct hands for the period, crown good and case looks really good and unpolished. Lume looks original and aged like the dial...Never seen one the same before (but I don't look at them only arbitrarily) but worth $10,000+ - pipe dream….
    So many watches.....so little time.....
