Ulysse Nardin vs Ulysse Nardin Chronometer Co.

So just today I bought a midcentury Ulysse Nardin at DC Big Flea (the only legit vintage UN in America I've seen in YEARS). I've noticed that some Nardins say "Ulysse Nardin Chronometer Co." rather than just "Ulysse Nardin". Are those meant for the American market in the same way LeCoultre was JLC's US?

    Really, this watch is genuine.
Dial looks poorly re-worked ( I can list a few issues)
Hands are lumed, dial appears not.
Any movement and inside case photos

I must say that the lack of a movement photo also troubles me. On top of that, the chronometer cross doesn't seem to meet the markings in the right place at 9:00 so it may have been applied post hoc (or the entire dial reworked). Even if fully genuine, it would never be "Ulysse Nardin Chronometer Co." (which it doesn't say on the dial anyway). It would be a chronometer by Ulysse Nardin.

I think it was a way to get around the U.S. import laws, especially for precious metals. I've read that because it says chronometer on the dial, doesn't mean it has a movement to match.
    Hopefully someone else can help.

Exactly, that (and others) was 'one' of my issue!

Size: 1.11 MBYeah. so it's a Ulysse Nardin Chronometer Co. movement inside, with "Ulysse Nardin New York" on the caseback with gold hallmarks. So chances are, it is in fact a redial, although not as bad as some of the ones that I've seen.

That's what I thought. I had seen a few that said "Chronometer Co." on the web. Wasn't sure about those, but this one seems legit, even if it does have a gnarly redial.

I presume that the US import code is BXP (it looks a little like BXR from here) which would be genuine: Bayer, Pretzfelder & Mills, Glycine, Imperial, Norwich, Ulysse Nardin, Vauchay. So it really does look like a genuine watch, but with the dial refreshed at some stage (and probably not recently).

Yep, movement and case seem correct
But it is a poor redial - sorry to say that.
    Worth getting correctly done

Yeah. I wasn't counting on the dial being original. Either way, I didn't lose any money on this. The seller wanted $1600, but I managed to trade in my LeCoultre that I paid $800 for on eBay.
