    Unknown Bucherer pendant watch

    Hello, everybody.

My wife was given a watch by her grandmother. It's a marble pendant watch.

The dial says "Bucherer." The movement says "SWISS" "SEVENTEEN" "17 Jewels" "3 Adjustments."

The inside of the case simply says "METAL", which is discouraging.

The case is gold in color and has probably fake jewels (red, blue, green, clear) inlayed all around it.

Without a serial number or model name/number, is there any way to find out more about this?

    Thanks.
    Steve.

    Hi -

Bucherer is one of the major Swiss jewelers/watch sellers. The watch, without being able to look at a picture (Pictures! We loooove pictures!), is most likely something made for Bucherer in the middle of the last century. Given that you say the movement has 17 jewels and is adjusted to three positions, and that it is labelled "Bucherer" probably points to a rather nice movement, but not one that will be in any way easily identifiable.

    Thanks, John.

I don't have a digital camera, but I might have a picture I can scan. I'll look into that.

Thanks for the information. I was pretty sad to see that there was no serial number anywhere on it. I guess it will remain a mystery watch.

    Steve.
