    UNKNOWN MAKER OF VINTAGE WATCH

    Hi i have this watch which i know nothing about not even the manufacturer i know that the case is silver with a glasgow hallmark it has a number inside case 180806 it is swiss made and has 8 jewels marked inside any info would be welcome thanks DARTSAMSON

    I would think that you have almost no hope of identifying the maker. Since this is almost certainly a generic movement, you have a better chance of identifying the movement maker but the company that cased it will probably remain unknown.....

    Hmmmmm. Small movement with cylindre escapement and presumably ten stones. Looks a little like Adolf Schild from here but I can't find an exact match.

    A Schild is who I would have guessed. The train bridge on these comes in various forms. However I am of the suspicion that when AS shifted out if cylinder production they sold the designs to other companies who continued production further muddying the water.
