    Unknown Manufacturer! Help?

    Good day forum,

I recently purchased a vintage silver ladies manual wind. The only clue the seller gave me, was that the watch is from the 1930s. Do any of you know what company may have manufactured this watch?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Setter

Seems like an impossible task in my opinion. So many tiny Swiss made ladies watches were made with no brand on the dial or movement.

Well, the movement was made by Adolf Schild, something from this calibre family:

    bidfun-db Archiv: Uhrwerke: AS 340

As for the maker of the entire watch, you would need to be able to identify the hallmarks (if any relate to the final assembler at all).....

    Re: Unknown Manufacturer! Help?

    Hello everyone,

I thought I'd add an update of my findings...

So, I've been doing some research on hallmarks (totally new thing for me!), and it looks like the watch was manufactured in 1917 in London, and it's made of foreign produced silver, if I'm not mistake? We're getting there!

Nearly correct. This is the import mark for Lonon. This means the sterling silverpeace was imported 1917 frome elsewere (here a wathcase from switzerland) by someone to London.
