Unknown movement, identity help needed please.

Hello, dear forum friends. Over the past few months Ive been trying to identify this movement and whilst I hate to admit defeat, it has me well and truly stumped.

Whilst Roamer had a Vidar brand, this isnt one of theirs. It appears to be un-IDd on either side and my watchmaker (who considers all of my babies to be old relics anyway), is equally unable to name it. The dial side image is from his phone camera thingy and I don't know how to re-size it. My apologies for that.

The movement measures approx. 22.75mm so its maybe a 10.5. Ive tried to find a match in all of the likely (and most of the unlikely) suspects in R.R.s archive, and its been driving me nuts. So, if anyone can save me from pulling out what remains of my hair, Id be most grateful.

    Regards and many thanks.

Very interesting movement!! :D Vidar was a model name for Roamer so I would rule out the connection. Because of the "Foreign" at the bottom I would go towards a German product.

Here is a Vidar with a Bifora movement https://www.ebay.fr/itm/fully-workin...0/382341041946
Another one with a German movement Vintage gents wristwatch VIDAR mechanical watch spares or repair FOREIGN | eBay

Yup, at the outset I'd had hopes for it being something from Bifora or Osco but, nope, or a least no matches in Roland's archive with these makers or anyone else so far.

    Regards.

I can't find a match either. However, if Vidar was associated with Roamer in some way, I would have suspected that it's an MST movement. They often made lower grade movements in their earlier days and this one, although a fully jewelled Swiss lever movement, looks a little basic. It is a reasonable match in key parameters (geartrain positioning, shape of balance cock and lever cock, etc.) for one of the standard MST movements:

...so maybe it is a derivative or a forerunner of that movement?!

Many thanks, Hartmut. Perhaps we'll never know for sure, unless another one turns up!

I'm afraid you're right. Some design details remind me on Intex
bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: Intex 1055
But that's pure speculation. and Intex calibres are between poorly and not published.

    Hi Roland,

I'm most grateful to you. I can certainly see similarities to the Intex 1055, and you've given me another avenue to explore.

    Kind regards,

    B.
