    Unsigned Pocket Watch Identification Help

Before I look to aquire this, I had some questions on the movement. Its in a gold filled case by Comrade and the only markings are a case serial, a movement serial and "switzerland" which I have not seen before. If anyone has any input on the movement I would be much appreciative. The serial on the movement is 106042.

All I can say is that it looks high class - angled bridges and plates, elaborate fine adjustment, centre wheel jewelled and in a chaton..... The sort of thing that Vacheron or Patek would come up with! I can't find a match, though.

Thank you very much! I suppose for 125$ it's a good deal? If I have the dial removed, could the dial side of the movement shed some insight?

I picked it up for 85$- it's running perfectly- the crystal is cracked, but no scratches on the dial at all. My only question is how to remove the stem, and remove the movement from the case and eventually take off the dial. Is it all screws?

    Thanks for the help

If it was a wrist watch, there is a chance that you could get it out via the back but in pocket watches, there is a lip on the base plate which generally means you have to get it out dial side. First, you pull out the crown in the setting position, next, you loosen the tiny screw next to the winding stem just enough to get the stem out, third, you get the movement out. Are you sure you want to do this?! Enough movements have been broken that way and even if you know what you are doing, you need a very fine screwdriver.....

Honestly Harmut, I really just want to know more about the watch. If there was another clue that would tell me it's origin (you got me really hyped that this is high quality). I'd love to hear an audemar or Patek, which I'm sure I won't.. Will removing the dial show markings on the dial side of the movement?

I appreciate the input! May I ask what gave you that determination?
