unusual Elgin-have you seen one like this before?

Just arrived the watch I bought a few weeks ago on Ebay auction. It's better than I expected!
very solid stainless steel case -about 12mm thick ;36mm in diameter w/o crown
movement ETA(can't read the number) with hack feature .
I don't know anything about this watch but think it's not a mass produced Elgin from 1960'-70'
Have you ever seen one like this before?any comments?

    'E' logo indicates it's post 1964.

Proper 'ELGIN' font on the rotor suggests it may be an Elgin National Watch Co. product (i.e. before bankruptcy and collapse in 1968). What's the inside caseback say?

Oh, and the hands look anachronistic. Like something from the 1930s - 40s.

Yes, I've seen something like it before. I think it was a few weeks/months ago. Very probably the same exact watch. Possibly posted by the seller.

Real Elgin National Watch Company products should have "Cased and Timed by Elgin Nat'l Watch Co." stamped in the inner caseback, which this doesn't.

But, Elgin also stamped a 4-digit case model number inside the caseback, too, just like this one.

So, it's a mystery to me!

I'm not an expert but I saw some Elgin diving watches cased by GRABER SWITZERLAND.
    there's one ---https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Elgin-M135-Dive-Divers-Day-Date-Watch-w-Warm-Patina-All-SS-Case-PUW-1463/332689971508?hash=item4d75de1934:g:CXoAAOSw~bFWM9l 0

Almost certainly not an Elgin National Watch Co. product. Probably dates to after the collapse of the original company, when the name and trademarks were sold off.

in my opinion it's a railroad not approved watch.
btw any technical data about Elgin cal.346?
    what I see it's a ETA cal.2520R (?)with micro-regulator and hacking feature.

I believe it was my watch you were referring to as I posted it a few weeks ago. They're two separate watches.
