    Unusual Tudor

I've just been to my watchmaker and he's got this unusual Tudor in his cabinet

I commented that I've never seen one like it and neither has he, he said Rolex were their usual helpful selves and drew a blank, it's an original dial as far as we can tell, the number between the lugs is
    7996-0

    Any help appreciated

    Matt

Could be an old redial? As the date disc doesn't match complexion?

Or it could very well be original as the quality of printing is really crisp.

    Re: Unusual Tudor

My feeling is a (poor) redial.
Logo is not correct, but was used 1947 to 1960
    Tritium was started circa 1960.

Thanks fella's, if it is a redial (probable, it's a rolex house after all) then I think it's an old one, could it have been done at the request of the original owner? I guess we'll never know but I kind of like it anyway, just unfortunate that Rolex/Tudor don't fit my wrist shape.

It`s an interesting watch Matt, but i cant see Tudor getting so far out of their comfort zone with a dial like that, they were doing well enough with their other lines. But if you like the style have a look at this threadhttps://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/rail...es-260552.html

I'm no Tudor expert and I appreciate your reply Adam, just one question, the logo, 47-60 and you say Tritium was used from c:60 so could this have just been on that cross over period?

Very similar well done for finding that,
What do you think? A later version? Or is someone obsessed with putting railway dials on Tudors?
There are stranger hobbies I suppose
