UPDATE!!! My first two :) Lord Marvel and Hafis 17 Jewel 14k Solid gold

Ok so these are my first vintage watches. I got the Lord Marvel first because I wanted that SMOOTH 36000 sweep. It is also 100% original and the movement is almost flawless. My guess is this was a drawer watch that never got wrist time.

Next up is where i need a little help. First off from what ive researched Hafis was a private swiss brand made by the Sutter Bros who worked in the same town as omega was created. I wanted a solid gold watch and thought this was nice and im assuming extremely rare considering most vintage gold from defunct brands have been scrapped. I also cant figure out how to get the case back off. I cant find any lip so maybe its open through glass? Im guessing a good service and clean is in order aswell? Its circa 60's so any information would be a great help, only complaint would be that it looks like some dud tried to polish with an abrasive :( Also got a bit scared when i saw some dust inbetween the lugs and thought it was filling worn off :O but yea just dust, theres little notches that have been taken for testing so with that and the hallmark im very confident is the real deal.

Wow. Both are lovely, the Lord Marvel in particular. Hard to find nowadays and in great condition.

Don't know anything about the Hafis, but the case looks remarkably similar to a Hamilton I have. Hard to see exactly, but if so, this type of bubbleback case is fixed and so, yes, entry is by the front. At this point, I'd stop unless you have the correct tools and skills; it almost certainly needs a service anyway and so let your watchmaker pop it off. The case should clean up easily as it's solid gold, of course.

The problems we have! If only the world could understand the hardship we face every day with our watches...

I'm not really into gold as it's just an expensive metal that doesn't make the a watch any better but it sure looks nice. In a way I hate gold watches as so many watches have died because of that darn metal but then there are a lot of spare movements because of it as well so I don't know what to think.

I love the Lord Marvel though as its high quality and to find one is such nice condition is rare as they were used until they were worn out.
