Very Interesting "Omega" Tavannes Demi Hunter.. With a Blank Dial.

Just came across this on the US eBay.. An "Omega" Tavannes, in a Demi Hunter case. It also has a completely blank dial.

For $50.. its probably still not bad for a case, and usable parts movement..

Movement is Omega? Or are you saying its not an Omega movement?
I can not see the London assay mark out to date it, nor could I find the Brevet number 9846? Thats a pity/

If you hover your mouse over the ebay pics you can get a zoom window.
The Brevet number 9846 is visible at the top of the open case back.
The hallmark is London import for 1914.

The case is missing its inner bezel, the dial is duff and someone has been laser
etching the Omega name on this Tavannes movement.

    Hi Radger
Yes I did hover over and could see the London import mark, but could not make out the letter?
I looked up 9846 (I could read that) but never found anything related to watch cases or watches.

Yes must be - actually 'depose' means deposited or filed' so more likely a registration as you correctly point out.
If a patent then Brev Dep?

We've had this discussion before. Unfortunately the answer is no, not necessarily. Depose is used completely interchangibly for anything deposited - designs, patents, trademarks and the like. It was down to the watchmakers which one they wanted to use and I think that decision changed on a whim from time to time.
