    Vintage Accutrons

    I only have 3 ... It's a start on a collection .

    1968 - 218D. .....................................1969 - 214. .....................................1970 - 2181.

    ONLY!!!? I would say you are off to an AWESOME START! Really nice, The space view is ROCKIN"!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's on my "WANT" List. The other two are no slouches either, very nice.

    Those are very nice. I like the case on the 218 to the right.; do you have any detailed pics of that one? Are you having them serviced as you pick them up?

    these are on my wanted list at the moment seen a seller in Bulgaria selling a few. Great spaceview would love one of those but pay a lot more then the others.

    I won the 2181 with this bracelet on e-bay. The seller had the watch overhauled and serviced plus a new battery fitted.

    The spaceview is a factory original. At some point, its hands was replace with those of a Accutron with gold color hands. I could fix that with a set of NOS hands but I like the watch as it is.

    sharp looking collection you have there! i have a question, that 1970 accutron on the far right, do you have any other details on it? i inherited a 1969 version of the same watch and i'm trying to gather intell on it.

    Are you sure? I usually stay away if the hands are wrong and markers are on inner bezel and crystal. Each of these features indicate a conversion, and yours has both. Of course it is possible that only hands and crystal were replaced wrong, but a price ratio around 5 between Spaceview and normal model is a good reason to doubt wherever possible.

    On this site The Accutron Watch Page you'll find many hints how to discover a conversion. However, conversions exist where every single part is correct, and of course it is impossible to identify them as such.
