    Vintage???? Alsta Star PW

My mom found this a while back and sent it to me. Couldn't really find any info on this. I did find info on the star watch case company but not sure if this fell in the makers production. Does anyone else have any info on this and possibly date of production. It doesn't look very old to me. It also has what looks like the original box too. Oh yea, and runs nicely! Thanks for any help!

Thanks vintage1982. So I'm reading that these movements are pretty good and modernly popular? By the looks of this one, I figured a relatively cheap watch. Maybe now its actually and average quality pocket watch?
I took a closer look and did find the 6498 under the balance wheel. The dial also looks like it may be lifting under the second hands area. Looks like a Sticker?? dial. I popped the bezel off with jopes of just rubbing it down but didn't work. Maybe I can get a little glue on a toothpick and rub under it to reglue it down, if this was how it was put on.

You're right, these movements are of decent quality. They're still being used today in a modified form, mostly in flieger style watches.
Also cloned a lot...I might add.
