    I did a search of http://www.himawari.sakura.ne.jp/~garaken/JW/J-TOP.htm
but didn't turn up any reference to '555'. Do you have a picture?

BTW, for mechanical watches, the term to use for self-winding is 'automatic', not 'kinetic'.

AFAIK, the 555 was a line of Citizen watches, as other lines were the Newmaster, the Jet, etc.
It seems to be, that they came with various movements, and I guess it was a kind of a mid-range line.
The watch can be dated by it's serial number, if you can guess the decade. The first digit shows you the year (e.g. 7, for '67, '77, '87) for the month you have to see if the serial is a 6 digit one (than the second digit gives the month with 1 for January...9 for Sept., = for October and N, D for Nov. Dec). But the 555 should have a 7 or 8 digit serial where the 2nd and the 3rd digit give the month (01 for Jan. up to 12 for Dec). At least that's my latest knowledge.

    Cheers,

    Axel
