    Vintage Gallet Chrono - Identify??

Hello. I recently came across a Gallet watch, while cleaning out my Grandfathers old house. I have looked and looked and am simply unable to identify it. I see many Gallet, but none the same. I am really hoping that someone will be able to help me out. If of any value, I would probably be interested in selling so a good starting point would also be quite helpful. Thank you for any help. I really look forward to any information. Best regards...Jeff

Looks like a Flight Officer. Seems to be missing a bezel.

Yup, Gallet Flying Officer that needs a replacement rotating bezel. I think maybe you have an early version. Mostly I've seen the "Harry Truman" version of this watch from like 1951 and the dial is a little different. Very nice watch, bezel isn't impossible to find. If you think of it, pop upen the case back and take some pics of the movement.

Thank you all so far with the input. The Flight Officer was my only guess, but the lack of bevel confused me. I am really going to have to look to find someplace that works on them.
Would a picture inside tell much more about it? It is fully working and I did a few quick chrono tests which were accurate.
I probably intend to sell, but am guessing the bevel and servicing should be done first? Just assuming the investment is much recovered if I sell it?
I'm quite new to this so I appreciate the help and input.
    THANK YOU.

I assume normally it would be suggested to be serviced directly by Gallet? I took a quick look at this option, they do a "Basic" service at $850, assuming that the bezel is required I'm sure it would be in the 1000 range. Obviously, like new when complete. Any other ideas/options servicing? To be honest, I don't have much sentimental value to it, and as much as I would like to have the keepsake I probably intend to sell it. Just very confused and curious how to proceed? Thanks again for the input....

I would think the bezel is going to be very hard to source.
Regarding the service etc and the "investment" that you plan for the watch, if you want to sell it, i would not recommend you sending it to Gallet for the service. I think you would be losing money if you intend to sell it.

I would only send it to Gallet only if they can replace the bezel. But since they mite not of made parts for this watch due to age it just mite be out of stock. You can have a independent watchmaker service it for halve the cost of the 850 cost you mite ask the forum of good watchmakers in your area.

If you intend to sell it, sell it as it is, functional but missing bezel and not serviced. There are many enthusiasts and collectors who have the means and motivation to fix this beauty. My 2 cents...
