Vintage Hamilton GG-W-113 with SWISS on the dial?

I'm thinking about buying a vintage Hamilton GG-W-113 (December 1972) but I'm skeptical of the dial. It has "SWISS" under the 6 marker.
Did these watches ever have SWISS written on the dials? (considering the date of manufacture and it's pedigree as a Hamilton / Benrus watch (according to my research)).
    Thanks.
    Dave

I have certainly seen some of these dials marked "SWISS", although I don't know if they were Hamilton or Benrus.

    Benrus or Büren?

In dog beers I've only had one.

The Benrus GG-W-113 had the SWISS at the bottom. I am not sure if the Hamilton version had SWISS on the dial. Do you have pics of this watch? I did not think that the Hamilton version arrived until 1973 or 1974.

It could be a benrus dial with a Hamilton movement

Benrus attempted a hostile takeover of Hamilton in 1951 but failed.

Buren, a Swiss manufacturer was purchased by Hamilton in 1966. Is this the pedigree you are referring to?

I think he means that both Hamilton and Benrus supplied these watches to the military.

Not entirely sure if this adds anything to the debate, but my Hamilton certainly has “Swiss” on the dial and is powered by the Tissot/Hamilton 2451 movement.

Never seen one with any type of print on the dial. The government specs specified that. In later years they had the H3 or it's symbol on the dial.
Do you have a movement picture? Should be an 685 if it's 1972. Grade 646 came out not to long after. I'm assuming it hacks?, If not, then there's another reason to doubt it.

My apologies - I now realise that my post adds absolutely nothing to this particular debate, so please ignore.

    Regards.
