    Vintage Longines help please...

    I was wondering if I could get some comments on what I have here please...

    From the looks of the serial number its 1951\52...and maybe a Norfolk??

    Unsure... Others more knowledgeable will comment but I do wonder if case is correct for the movement..

    Frankenwatch. Case back could not have been original.

    From my limited knowledge.
    Movement number puts it at 1952
    Dial and case looks like Norfolk however hands not so according to Watch Resources site.
    I believe the 23z movement was a common longines movement and very reliable .
    I do not believe case back is original hence the added horrible movement holder .
    Whats with missing case backs for longines? I have two Longines with 23z /23zs movements without case backs.

    So that's what that plate is LOL!!

    Could it be possible it interferes with the movement?? I should take it off??

    Just came across it at a local flea market this morning!!

    Should not interfere . Take it off and the movement and dial will be very loose and probably become inoperable .

    Took it off...actually pretty stable...
