    Vintage Omega automatic

    Hello All,
Came into an antique store in Upstate NY and found a cool Omega automatic with faded painted indexes and sharp pointed hands. SS case and crown looks small and wobbly and not original. The case back has no markings but downs have lock down like a divers watch not a snap back. The thick crystal is yellowing but clear, dual is clear and nice with a pearly white patina. About 36-37mm. Man wants $125.00 is it worth the gamble to buy it for $100 cash??

    Let me know.

It depends: has it been serviced? If not count another extra hundreds, so count that in the price...

Without photos the information we can provide is pretty limited. A "cool Omega automatic" could mean a lot of different things. I will go out on a limb and say that if you're knowledgable enough to identify it as completely authentic, then it's a pretty safe buy, even as a parts watch. If you're not confident, then you should post lots of clear photos, including of the movement and the inside of the case-back.

For 100$ I highly doubt, you will find something extraordinary, please post pics of the aforesaid watch as well as pics from the movement

I fixed a few $100 Omega watches and often they will cost you another $100 in parts so it's a gamble.
