    Vintage Omega "bumper" automatic

Hello everyone, I'd like to share a few pictures of my Omega "bumper" automatic circa 1940s, with you.

The gold plated case measures 32mm in diameter, sub second dial at he 6:00 position

The dial is in good condition, apart from slight patina. I've always found the dials on vintage watches to be beautiful, and this one in my opinion, is no exception.

The "bumper" rotor rotated only 130 degrees, and bumped into 2 small springs (visible just above the lower lugs in the picture) at the limits of its travel, hence the name "bumper" automatic

Hope you like the pictures. Thanks.

I'm a big fan of Bumper automatics. They're just so cool! Often you can feel that little *thunk* as the weight hits the buffer springs. It reminds you what a nifty little piece of horological history you're wearing!

    I own 2 Elgin bumpers myself, a 607 and a 618

The movements are nearly identical, so I'll just show the 618...
