    Vintage Omega Cal 266

    Dear Vintage experts,

I came across this beautiful Omega vintage. Seller claims to be Calibre 266 from arounf the 1950's. All original and in good condition.
Would appreciate your views. Is it all original? Does it look all good or something worth highlight? Is it a Cal266 and what are your opinions on that calibre?

    Thanks for the help!

    Re: Vintage Omega Cal 266

The cal 266 is a variant of Omega's highly respected 30T2 movement, and is considered a very good quality manual winding movement. Yours is a legitimate cal 266 movement.

The rest of your questions are harder to answer because of the poor quality of the photos. For example, I can't read the reference number of the watch on the inside of the case-back, and because there is so much glare it is difficult to get a good look at the condition of the dial. However, while I can't be absolutely certain, I suspect that the dial has been professionally refinished at some point. Dials like this are highly desirable, but usually in poor condition, so they are always tempting candidates for refinishing. Perhaps others will also weigh in on this important question. Also, I don't believe that the hands are original or correct. The crown is also a replacement.

Is this a very honest and reputable seller with high expertise? A collector? Or a random eBay seller with a lot of overhyped watches? I'm a little concerned about the way the case has been polished and by the style of the photos, that the seller is going to efforts to hide flaws, and so he might not be completely forthcoming in other areas.

What is the reference number on the inside back? That may help a search for others with the same code.
