    Vintage Omega Constellation "C" case

Got this omega in the mail and was wondering if you guys could give any feedback in regards to its condition. The bezel is supposedly 14k or 18k white gold which is unique, however I suspect I will have to get it re-dipped in rhodium as it will continue to yellow.

Additionally, is it common practice to have a newly acquired vintage watch serviced even if it seems to be in good condition? I am mostly worried about the gaskets being replaced to prevent any potential water damage (I plan on wearing this omega daily).

**EDIT** Do any of you wear vintage watches daily? Any tips on keeping them in good shape?

    Hello,

Some of the Constellation range did have solid gold bezels, if this is one, I can't say, as far as getting it serviced, yes, I would have it done if you intend to wear it every day.

    Hello

Yes you should get it serviced if you have no record of the last time it was serviced. I would leave the bezel as it, it is only original once and the bezel would still look good even yellowing. A good jeweler can test the bezel quickly to find out how much gold content is in it.

    Nice watch

also it looks like your rotor axle and rotor bush(bushing attached to the rotor) is worn and the rotor is scraping the case back. You can see wear on the top of the rotor and also wear on the case back were it was rubbing

Thanks for the heads up, I'll be sure to mention this when I bring it in for servicing.

Wear quite a few vintage watches on a daily basis. Make sure you get them serviced. Treat it like a normal watch as they are meant to be worn. Love the band on it, really works well with it. Nice dial with probably looking amazing in outdoor light. Depending on your job, they really are a great change from the bigger watches you normally see. Plus many make for great conversation makers.

Yes lots of folks daily wear vintage watches. A properly serviced vintage watch makes a fine daily wear watch.

An Omega Connie is a good daily wear watch

As for keeping it well, you just need to know the limits of the watch. Taking showers or swimming with one is not a good idea. Chopping firewood is not a good thing for even new mechanical watches.

Indeed and the calibers 55x-56x-75x were the best indeed calibers ever made by Omega, expected accuracy if very well serviced can be as good as a master coaxial chronometer. I wear this vintage constellation which is much rarer than the c case connie on a dialy basis since may

Accuracy on it is + 18 sec in 3 months!!!Also no shower, no washing of the dishes with it and no other things that could harm it. Properly cared any vintage omega and especially the constellation will bring you loads of joy. The bezel of the watch in question is of white gold like on mine.
