Vintage Omega Constellation C or Vintage Girard Perregaux 18k?

I have narrowed down my vintage watch search to an Omega Constellation with a 564/5 movement stainless steel "C" cushion-case; or a vintage Girard Perregaux 18k yellow gold.

Both seem to be between the $600-$900 range which is my budget. I do not know the best vintage movements for Girrard Perregaux or if they would rival Omega's at the time, but I would prefer for the GP it to be 18k.

Update: Vintage Tudor's also might be an option!

Which one of these would you go for and be the better purchase?

These are two completely different watches, and nobody can say which is "better" or decide for you based on the information provided (no photos, no information about the GP, etc.). However, if you provide good photos and more information, we might be able to give you information about the condition/originality of the watches that could help guide your decision.

None is better or worse. Just two watches.
Given they are both in good condition, I would personally go with Omega
    Chaos is my focus

Depends. Is the Omega a screw back? Not a fan of the C styled cases . GP is a dress watch. Do you need a dress watch?

I would also look at Longines, but only manual winds. I'm not a fan of their early automatic movements. Overly busy and complicated. Maybe later ones were better.

Personally I rate the 564 movement from Omega as probably their best ever movement and I’m a fan of the C case Constellation so that would be my choice, a very nice watch for everyday use, smart enough for any occasion but robust enough for life’s little knocks.

Yes, I am fine with a dress watch. Vintage Longines manual wind are also a great option! Vintage Longines were among the best back in the day.

Yes, I have read fantastic things about the 564 movement. I wonder if a watchmaker during service can still leave it at chronometer accuracy levels during regulation.

A competent watch maker shouldn’t struggle to accomplish this, mine is within specs

Possibly, and most likely the watch could be regulated to keep reasonable time over a 24-hour period, but that is not the extent of chronometer testing. Issues like isochronism and positional variability will depend on the condition of the movement and how well it has been maintained over the years.
