    Vintage Omega Geneve. Real?

    So little activity in the "buster" section of each brand so I thought I would continue to post here. If it's against the rules then I guess a mod could move it.

    Vintage omega geneve 18k gold plated;

    Opinions? Real?

    Well, Omega certainly made a geneve in that case with a 600 movement, I know I had one but I would say Re-dial as I've never seen a black dialled one and the white hands don't belong.

    I guess I shouldnt just say "fake?" because even if its not. Your response is alsot he type of response that Im looking for. If the hands dont belong etc.

    found another one that looks like this one including hands here: Authentic Vintage Mens Omega Geneve Automatic Cal. 2852 W/ Date, C. 1970s

    It could well be the original hands but I would have expected them to be gold coloured, the white marks on the cardinal points just dont seem crisp enough to me for it to be an original dial.

    He claims that its Incredible hard to find this watch in in this condition.

    He only auctions near mint ones.

    ....but since in a beginner mint/re-painted looks the same in my eyes. He has a splid trackrecord thogh sale wise.

    The lighting/camera might help I guess.

    Im going to send him a email witha few questions and see what he claims and then double check here =)

    Redialed means a completely new one right? Thanks for the response! Will pass on this one. I dont know what I would do without watch forums thats for sure. I have ordered a watch book with a solid ammount of basic info. Are there any books or anything that explains more how to spot fakes? I assume you guys just use the knowledge collected after years of beinginterrsted in something. I guess typing in the numbers on the Watch on some site to get info on what its supposed to be compared to what youre looking at is the first step. But more specifics would be nice. Any books that adresses this? Sorry for spelling, typing on my phone
    and unable to spellcheck.

    for sure the redial. if you look closer the "swiss made" is not equal distance from the 6 bar.
