    Vintage Rolex?

Bit of pie in the sky really this one but who knows?
There is a chance I may be in line for some back pay possibly around the £1200 mark, now I really like vintage and especially the military & trench watch look, I also like stainless steel cases though I am quite happy with gold cases well at least 9ct as anything above can be silly money!
Now I have been watching Rolex Oysters of the 1940-ish era for some while on internet auction sites and what I'd like to know if there are any inherent pitfalls associated with Rolexes of this era, anything to look out for any seller recommendations and how much on average is a good one?

I don't know the answers to any of the questions - except they're never cheap!

I've not shown this (1926) for a while:

Please don't PM me to ask for a valuation - I won't attempt one.
