Hi, first time poster here,
Recently bought a 1960's Rolex precision oysterdate from a friend. I accidentally overwound the manual wind, and heard a small snap. Now it has about a 17 hr power reserve instead of full 30, and the manual wind won't get "tight" to know it's done being wound.
What do I do in this situation? If I take it to an AD, they'll want to send it back and Rolex will replace the vintage parts with non-vintage parts. Furthermore, the cost of the parts will likely be more than what my friend sold me the Rolex for. What's the play here?
