My father recently gave me his vintage Sandoz 17 jewel Swiss made Chronographe wrist watch. My research tells me that it was made around 1960. At first, I wasn’t too interested in this watch, but I’ve been wearing it all day and I’m enjoying it more and more. The watch is similar to this watch - https://auction.catawiki.com/kavels/...en-s-watch-60s
Except that it has a flexible metal band and the crystal is cracked and scratched. It has an acrylic crystal that I would like to have replaced. I think these watches originally came with acrylic crystals. Would it be wrong to replace it with something more durable? Or is it even possible to get a new crystal for this watch. Any insight on this watch would be appreciated. Thanks! Eric
I added a picture of the backside of the watch as well as a better picture of the crack in the crystal.
