Vintage Seiko pickup-New pics last post!!

All I have right now are the sellers pics. I didn't think I could really lose on this seiko. I'm pretty sure, with the 6619 movement, that this is possibly a 1964?? Suposedly there are actually 18 jewels used and 3 hidden jewels in these. From what I read, 18 jewels just seemed to be an odd number compared to most watches so they added 3 hidden jewels to round it up to a common 21 jewels. It actually reads Diashock 21 jewels. ?? Do any of you have any other ideas? I paid a whopping $13.99 total.

So here's the caseback. So I'm still thinking that this is 60's and with the caseback ser# 7679147 that it puts it at 1967. Does this sound right? Btw, it seems to be running nicely, the crystal needs a good polish, and even the quick date works on the crown.

One with the crystal on. Lol

And I took the crystal off. Gonna have to wait til I have my tools as the crystal needs reseated/sealed and also fix that small bend in the dial. Looks nice. May get a new crystal if I can find one cause the dial is just soo clean.

    Nice, I agree with '67.
Please lose the bracelet with expanding lugs if you are going to wear the watch, as they destroy plated or solid gold case lugs. The spring loaded expanding part rubs away first the plating, then the soft metal beneath.

    Cheers, Bob.

You have to have an eye for this. I would have never thought that it is more or less just a matter of scratches on the (easily replaceable) crystal, with a nice and clean dial underneath. I would have made a bet that the dial needs to be replaced as well. I don't know how many watches I have ignored on eBay, based on such a misjudgement.

So I was bored a little today. Thought I would throw a little polish on this crystal and resurrect this thread. Lol I had actually just been letting this thing sit on a shelf since I bought it. Anyway, I did give it a little better look than what it was.
