Inspired by Dennis' "In & Out" thread, but lacking the discipline to carry out something so thorough, I posted the yield of a particularly satisfying run of "ins" over the past three months on the Zenith forum - thought the vintage forum might be interested in a summary. (full post:https://forums.watchuseek.com/f27/201...ri-483564.html)
From left to right
1. Gold El Primero, first model of these released, in production from 1969-1972, 700 made. All of the goodness of the cal 3019PHC in a crunchy gold shell.
2. Gold two-subdial chronograph, powered by Zenith's cal. 146 (formerly Martel 749), the manufacture's mainstay chronograph movement prior to El Primero
3. Steel diver in a SuperCompressor case, also cal 146 powered, this time a variant with a 12 hour totalizer.
4. Zenith Victorious, a last gasp of mechanical watchmaking before the works converted over to largely quartz production in 1975 while under the ownership of Zenith Radio Corp. (cal 2562C)
Best wishes of the season to all...thanks for the (ongoing) education.
