Weird "S" on Seamaster - tell-tale sign of redial or legit?

I've noticed a few times a weird looking S on Seamaster - like it's too long and has a weird crook to it.

    See below for an example.

As an amateur who doesn't really know what I'm doing, I've been quick to dismiss these pieces (as redials) since it seems like just sloppy handwriting vs. the "usual" look of Seamaster on the dial. But I'm seeing it pop up more and more and am beginning to wonder if there was a time / model / etc that featured a script like that.

Can anyone here comment? Is my initial instinct correct, that this is probably a redial? Or was this the style for a period?

    I'm pretty sure it's normal.

It's one of the correct styles; that dial looks ok. The hands ... not so much.

    The dial is absolutely correct.
