    What is this Bulova Accutron?

Hey everyone. I got this watch from my grandfather about 15 years ago, and it was forgotten in a drawer until recently. Does anyone recognize the year or model? Here are a couple pictures I took last night. Any information would great, I'm curious to find out anything about it.

Side question: what sort of battery is that? I'll grab one at the drug store and see if the watch still runs!

Well that is an unusual Accutron for sure. I almost thought it might have been a fake, but the movement is signed, so I stand corrected.
Most Bulova watches have a code on the back of the case (i.e. "N1") which would give you the year the watch was produced.
I've got more Converse sneakers than watches, but it is a close race.

I suspect this is from the 90's or even 00's... Bulova used the Accutron branding on a lot of cheap quartz during this period.

Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

Regardless of model, you got lucky if its really more than fifteen years without a battery change. No leaks or anything. Really something.

Yep, no battery leak in the years I've had it, and it's definitely older than that. I got it when my grandfather died in '93, and it was definitely worn for some years prior to that (there is visible wear on the back and straps). He got it from my great-great-aunt's husband, who died in the mid-50's.

The only things on the back are "ACCUTRON PI 14k" and 10281108.

Nope, sorry! The watch was actually from his retirement, which I believe was late 70's or early '80's -- I was asking my mother about it, and she thought I was talking about a different watch.

If that is the case, P1 would date the watch to 1981.
Which sounds about right for the time of the retirement.

And if it's solid 14K gold, quite an heirloom you've got there.
