What do i have? No really, what do i have.

My father in law has been left some watches and clocks by a friend who passed away.

Nothing of real interest or value however i have been given one, just to have.

Can anybody shed light on it? A quick google search doesn't bring up much.

The case appears to be silver.
Is there a way you can get a better photo of that mark on the movement?
I've got more Converse sneakers than watches, but it is a close race.

Well you've been given a really nice watch.
A Stauffer and co fitted with an I.W.C cal 57.
    Nice one.

The movement stamp is very very small. With naked eye it looks like a crown with two initials underneath, A&Co or R&Co.

It is a crown with S&Co underneath, this stands for Stauffer and Co.

    Addition..

Stauffer, an English watchmaker, was the official importer of International Watch Company watches
    into the U.K.
They are recognised as genuine I.W.C watches.

Thanks very much for the info. The watch keeps great time but would you suggest i look at a service for it? Ie, is it worth the outlay?

If you intend to use the watch then definately have it serviced, it is
a good watch and worth the outlay.

That case does indeed look like silver, and I really like the watch. Congratulations on a nice piece.
