What the heck is this symbol and age please?

I found this Bulova and laugh if you wish but it vividly reminded me of the clock tower in Back To The Future specifically when they were building it in the past. The serial number on the case is 6418807 did not help yet. The (15 Jewels) movement is a "FHF 1246" marked on the other side of the movement. Name: DSC03189.JPG

Size: 95.1 KB I searched the watch title and actually came up with results and some promising price comparisons. And this old add this just cool. http://cgi.ebay.it/1930-Bulova-Water...-/180572939001 I am very curious as to what is circled in the zoom in picture of the movement. I keep coming across the term military or was this a piece solgers used? Oh ya needs parts too so no complete pics. Thanks as always Watch Origins

As far as i can remember, i am pretty sure it is just a part of the Bulova signature put on the movement

    EDIT

The US stipulated that all foreign made movements had to be stamped with the manufacturers 3 letter code ... BXW was Bulova

With regard to age the Bulova 10AE is typically in watches from the mid to late 1930s. By the mid 1940s (maybe sooner) you are in the "B-series" i.e. 10BC, etc. The 1920s Bulovas that I have all run the 10AN.

BTW. There is a symbol stamped on one of the bridges, usually the main bridge that is a date code. The decoding of these can be done at mybulova.com.

I really like that dial. Good Luck.

I covered the movement and found nothing. Is it possible it was inadvertently removed when repaired a previous time.

Doesn't seem likely. Would have been on the bridge not shown in your pictures. So if you don't have the bridge then little you can do other than go through out ads looking for the same model.

I have attached a photo of one of my 10AN movements and put a box around the date symbol. In this case it codes to 1927.

Interesting. All my Bulovas have a mark. I found only one ad for your watertight, it was from 1930. The scan was not good enough to make out the details about the dial.

I'm tempted to think it's a franken; I've never seen a Bulova with a regulator arm that looks like this one.

Please post a pic of the barrell bridge; it should say "Swiss" on it somewhere.
