I haven't yet spent $100 on a watch (not including if it needed to be serviced) haha.
I might have to get back to you on that...

So far... maybe my 1950s Gruen? Not sure...I like them all.

Gee, that's well over half my collection. Best? That's like trying to pick my favorite dog... hummm....

    How about this one:

How about under $50.? A few years ago estate sale $40. for this gold case chronometer chronograph. Best from Lemania befor 1950. A preferred movement in many Omega chronographs and basic movement still used today in manual Patek chronos. Noticed one other in a major Swiss collection. An Auction record price better than a new car.

For me it must be this rare black Cristalonic Solar Quartz. It's in bad shape but works and I gave more or less nothing for it. I have seen it in several differen colours but never in black. I doubt it will ever be brought back into good shape though.

I've only spent more than $500 once. Of the rest, I'll present this Carlowitz/Vrard/Hengdali from about 1919 which cost me 41:

Re: What's the best/neatest watch you've gotten for under $500?

I have never spent anything like $500 - I seldom spend $50. Best buy - this 1951 Bulova Photowatch - I got it for $5. Mainspring was unhooked from the barrel arbor. Rehooked - rans fine. New Crystal ($4) + New Mainspring ($3) + Self-service COA (a couple of hours, plus supplies - pennies) + strap ($15). So total cost: about $27.50.
