Who/what is the Bolaro watch movement?

I have been seeing quite a few Bolaro watch movements for sale on the 'bay.
(Note, not a misspelling...it is "Bolaro", not "Bolero")

I have not been able to find a thing out about this movements, although some appear to be variations on an Angelus movement, and others more like a Cortebert.

Does anyone here have the scoobie on this ebauche?

I'm curious about getting one for a large wristwatch (case) project.

    Thanks!

Not known to me. I think it more likely that the ones you've seen are movements by Angelus or Cortebert have been marked with the brand of the watch - they seem to be mostly 'Chronomtre Bolaro'.

    Thank you Marrick,

I suspect that you are correct. International trade (facilitated by the internet) gives us some interesting choices, does it not?

Hello: Bolaro was a brand of Switzerland. In Argentina were really very usual. I actually are using one that it had been working for many decades and it is still very accurately. . It has a Adolf Michel AM 520 movement.

They made pocket watches, alarm clocks and very nice wristwatches at least into de 1960´s.
    Here is more information:
Mikrolisk - The horological trade mark index if you type Bolaro you will see that was manufactured by Reveils Looping S.A. G./Droz-Meylan/ Oris.
    Cheers!!!

BOLARO was a registered trade mark of looping SA - Cormondreche, Corcelles

Company was listed 1925 in Comondreche as G. Droz-Meylan,
Seemed to specialize in alarm clocks?

Not sure if its the same
