    Wittnauer Geneve movement recognition

Hi WUS! I've just opened my vintage Wittnauer Geneve Automatic to see what I got and I can't seem to find a movement name for this. I've seen other Wittnauers with similar digits written and seem to be a caliber but I don't know if it is just a Wittnauer representation or an specific movement. I would like to have more info about this movement and maybe from when it is from.

I leave you here a shot of the back case that reads "WITTNAUER WATCH CO - 8108 - C11AG / D11AG - HONG KONG"

The movement that reads "D 11 AG - UNADJUSTED SWISS - SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELLS - WITTNAUER WATCH CO"

And a couple of shots of the piece.

    Thank you!

This is the only movement I could find that comes close. Yours is probably in the family. The one in the link is from the 60's but yours looks to be possibly a newer movement in the 70's.

at first glance, i'm pretty sure that' an ETA 2798, or derivatives of the 27xx family.

Yeah, I agree with this assessment- look under the balance, I'll bet you'll find the caliber in there.

Sorry, wrong. The only ETA family with ccw-oriented balance cock is the 2850 line. So it is depending on the beat rate either an ETA 2878 ode 2879:

Correct Mr. Ranfft. It's an ETA 2879:
