    Wittnauer help

    Hello all,

I normally hang out with the Russian/Soviet guys, so this is a strange one for me.
I have recently come to own this Wittnauer Geneve Automatic 10k gold filled, 17 jewels with 11KAS movement. That is all I know about it.
Can any of you gurus tell me anything about it? Age? Movement characteristics? Important stuff. Value is irrelevant, and I am sure you guys hate people asking that as much as we do over on the communist site. ;)
I try to document each of my watches as much as possible and have found WUS to be invaluable as a font of information.
Now that I have this, I guess it would be an older uncle to my Longines.
Any and all help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    david.

The overall design of the dial/hands says early 1970's to me, very good looking watch.

    Re: Wittnauer help

The 11KAS I have seen look like the Longines 501 that is based on the Record 1955 but the problem is that this series of automatics all have date or day/date wheels so maybe Wittnauer modified the 501?

    Re: Wittnauer help

Thank you for the replies. I have a movement photo from the previous owner, but it does not show the serial number. I have a photo of the inside of the case, but assume this will date the case, not the movement.
Does anyone know what an "All proof 1100 wrench" looks like? Possibly where to find one?
It may have to wait until I get back to the States and can get to a watch maker.
Was able to find 2 photos on Google images of this watch, however no information.
